Whilst the streets of London are compact with tourists and commuters, Soho’s underground are listening to Jazz and getting their hair done. Whether it’s walking down into a drinking den or a cave of comics, go underground and explore the real, but secret, side to Soho.
GOSH!
Located on Soho’s much loved Berwick Street, ‘Gosh!’ may seem like an ordinary book store from the outside looking in, but there is a secret basement stocked with comics to explore. Whether you’re a lover of the medium or not, the thousands of comics that line the walls like wallpaper are enough to amaze anyone. With 30 years of experience, the shop is known for its knowledgeable comic-loving staff. From collector’s items to modern day indie comics, there is something for everyone in this shop that will help you get lost in for hours.

BLEACH London
If your Pinterest board is dedicated to crazy coloured hair styles, then I’m sure you would have heard of the infamous BLEACH London by now. Known for its hair creations at London Fashion Week earlier this year, the store has its own salon on the popular Berwick Street. The upstairs resembles a fairly normal salon, with a wall of bleach bottles showcasing the array of colours on offer, but downstairs there is something very different. The hidden hair washing station is placed in the centre of a very pink room, with comfy sofas to lean back on while the salon dog keeps you company.

Pizza Express Jazz Club
If you’re looking for live Jazz music and great pizza in the same place, then head down to 10 Dean Street in Soho for the perfect combination of both. The Pizza Express Jazz Club hosts live music every night, with the restaurant upstairs and the iconic jazz club underground. Having hosted to many musicians, such as Amy Winehouse, Norah Jones and Rick Wakemen, earning its reputation from its authentic and hidden underground Soho scene. The venue has hosted music since its first ticketed show in 1976, later being names ‘venue of the year’ (2015 and 2016) in the London Lifestyle Awards.

Cahoots Bar
The newly opened cocktail bar on Kingly Court is the perfect way to escape the busy streets of Soho. The secret drinking den is inspired by the post-war 1940s, decorated as an old tube station and filled with Jazz music, Swing and sing-a-longs on the old piano. The cocktail bar transports you back in time as you sit in an old tube carriage, as underground as it gets with its vintage 40s dress and décor to match.
